Project Requirements
To ensure efficient excavation in high-altitude conditions, multiple tunnel air compressors were deployed along the tunnel. The objective was to deliver sufficient compressed air for rock drilling while reducing energy consumption and operational costs.

Phase 1: Pilot Tunnel to Main Tunnel (4,100m)
- Initial Setup: 7 × 132KW (24m³) air compressors
- Excavation Progress: At 4,700m, all 7 compressors were operating, powering 18 × 28 pneumatic rock drills
- Optimization: SYC Portable Diesel Engine Screw Air Compressor deployed 200m from tunnel face
- Result: Only 4 compressors needed to run while meeting full air supply requirements
- Energy Savings: Reduced usage of 2 × 132KW air compressors
Phase 2: Pilot Tunnel to Main Tunnel (7,000m)
- Initial Setup: 7 × 132KW (24m³) air compressors
- Excavation Progress: At 7,600m, all 7 compressors were operating, powering 18 × 28 pneumatic rock drills
- Optimization: Portable Diesel Engine Screw Air Compressor deployed 200m from tunnel face
- Result: Only 4 compressors needed to run while meeting excavation demands
- Energy Savings: Reduced usage of 2 × 132KW air compressors

By reducing operation from 7 to 4 × 132KW compressors, the project achieved significant energy savings.
